Lovely location, not so good food and extremely overpriced drinks. This place has gone down hill a lot since summer 2014. With each visit, our enjoyment at this establisment creeps further down the ladder.

Brought kids down for the egg hunt and lunch. 50 mins after ordering one of the kids mains came out. 15 mins later the starters finally arrived. Squid was heavy and tasteless, over powered by the batter. Another 20 minute wait for everyone else's mains, but took 3 attempts and intervention by the bar manager to get a sandwich that matched what I ordered from the menu.

Suspect the popularity of the egg hunt detracted from the service levels, but we won't be hurrying back.

Oh god, we booked Sunday lunch here and it wasn't great. The veg was so hard, the beef was over cooked, the Yorkshires were undercooked, the roast potatoes were soft and more like boiled potatoes. As for cleanliness!!! Soaking wet floors, filthy yes filthy broken high chairs, beyond belief.
And the additions to Sunday roast were hilarious, 3 pieces of a sausage under cooked wrapped in bacon that was raw for £3.50?!!! We paid and left as soon as we could! Service on a positive was good, the only good thing about our experience.

We had a great visit yesterday. Originally or booking was for 4 but they managed to accommodate an extra adult and 2 toddlers. We arrived and were seated downstairs. The food was amazing, some of the group had a groupon but we ordered extra sides and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The children’s menu was great and their starter, mushroom soup, was so tasty all the adults had a try! The cheese board, for dessert, was huge! Glad I was sharing it with my dad. We still had some left after. There were 4 cheeses and we got 2 decent sized chunks of 3 of the cheeses, also served with crackers and fruit. The drinks are reasonably priced with a good selection. Our waitresses, Chloe and Maddie, were great. They had a laugh with us and nothing was too much trouble. They provided great service and were attentive. Nice to see the place doing well and it was very busy when we were there. We will definitely be back. Can’t wait for the summer to arrive so we can eat outdoors.

Very disappointing afternoon tea we did not enjoy at all. Sandwiches were stale and no choice on filling, came out as; prawn, cream cheese and cucumber, ham and whole grain mustard, cheese and pickle. Scones left a stinging taste and were returned as they had too much bicarbonate of soda. Even the cupcake was bland and the tea wasn’t strong, probably cheap tea bags. Complaints were made to two staff but no apology, discount or free drink offered to compensate. We left paying full price and still hungry. You get what you pay for on the 2 for £14 afternoon tea deal.
