In the area for a couple of days and my wife was attracted in by the craft fair. Noticed there was a restaurant in the church and thought we would stay for a coffee ........ which turned into lunch due to the range of tasty and appealing (often locally sourced)food on offer. Busy downstairs so we went up to the balcony level - which was a pleasant area to eat and gave very good views of this old - but very well maintained church. Finding such a good eatery tucked away here was a nice surprise! An interested blend of the modern with the old - done so well.

very knowledgeable stewards in attendance pointing out the the original features from the first church built in 1084, The Stained glass window and the Reredos behind the alter in the Chancel are outstanding.

A very old church, older than the cathedral, but brought up to date with modern facilities. Congratulations to the PCC!

Our first visit here and we are delighted to have come to this lovely friendly place. The restaurant menu is quite extensive and offers good home cooked meals. Parking can be a little tricky when town is busy, but it is still worth a visit. Plenty of activity within the church.

I was SO impressed by the warmth of the welcome I received, when being just a passing visitor, that I felt compelled to write about it on Trip Advisor.....
There are churches & there are churches. St Peter's certainly have their hearts in the right 'Christian' place. In their community & out reaches abroad. Whilst the congregation may not be huge, they clearly have much warmth & affection for each other, this pours out to even complete strangers like me
Thank you St Peter's, I was quite blown away!
