Greeted by Roberta, beautiful smile, informative and very approachable,
Fourth floor, accessible by a lift.
Room was rather small but adequate for our needs, one night would be acceptable.
Clean, fresh and comfortable bed.
Tea making facility, but a slight struggle to pass each other if one was sitting at the desk!!
The bathroom although clean, was awful, more like a cell. (not that we have been in a cell).
Had we not been so tired after a day exploring,I might have declined this room.
HE is well over 6ft plus.
Seriously he COULD NOT stand between the loo and the wash basin, ludicrous.
Who designs these rooms. Not particularly cheap either.
We were greeted by Tristan at breakfast, again a lovely and helpful young man.
Very helpful, with a delightful humour.
It is people like this who make ones stay so enjoyable.
Apart from the 'cell' we would stay here again, but would need to establish what the bathroom was like.

Room tip: Cannot help you here.

Dear 1dustyrhodes,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with Holiday Inn Portsmouth.

I am so pleased to hear that Roberta greeted you well and left a lasting impression. Thank you for your positive feedback regarding clean, fresh and comfortable bedrooms. I am sorry that you didn't like the bathroom, unfortunately the hotel was built in the 70's so they are on the smaller side. I will pass on your kind comments to Tristan, I am sure he will be thrilled as customer service is extremely important to him. If you would like to book again please do not hesitate to give us a call and we can request a room more suited to you.

Thank you again, and we can hopefully welcome you back soon.

Kind regards
Rachel Attfield

Together with my wife we stayed at the Holiday Inn last week. The room was clean . The breakfast was self service and was of good quality. An added bonus was the swimming pool.. If there was an issue it was with the evening meal. The menu was very limited which was the reason we went out to a local Chinese restaurant on the first night

Room tip: taxi service to Gun Wharf - fare was £3.00

We enjoyed an overnight stay at the weekend so we could combine some shopping at Gunwharf and a relaxing overnight stay in Portsmouth. The hotel staff were very welcoming on arrival. We had an executive room with a view of the sea. The room had everything we needed and was spotless. The spa facilities are also great and another reason we booked here. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection. The only criticism is that there was no fresh coffee. Overall a great experience and we will return.

Room tip: A view of the sea is a must

Room wasn’t made up on arrival. After 5pm. Had to ask twice for it to be done. Hotel generally seems a bit run down and needs a bit of a spruce up and a refurb. I’ve been in smarter holiday inns so this was a disappointment. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which were both excellent although the heating didn’t seem to be working too well Car park was too smallGood location though

Dear GarethR35,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with Holiday Inn Portsmouth.

Thank you for your feedback without it we wouldn't be able to continually improve our standards. I am sorry to hear that your room wasn't made up for you on arrival and will pass on your review to the Head Housekeeper so thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am pleased that you enjoyed dinner and breakfast and found the food excellent. We do advertise limited parking and our car park runs on a first come first serve basis. However, we do offer complimentary parking for out on the main road if the car park is full.

Thank you again,

Kind regards

We stayed here in late October whilst visiting a friend in Portsmouth. Rooms were small but good for a few days stay when all you really do is sleep in them. Shower very nice & towels big & fluffy! Liked the choice of two types of pillows.
Breakfast was amazing! Lots of choice, seated us even though it was very busy at times! We left full & didn’t eat again till dinner!
Only slight downside was small amount of parking in hotel. Arriving later on we had to get a permit & park on the road the first night which I didn’t like with my new car. But a wedding was taking place so it wasn’t the hotels fault & the next morning we got a space inside.
Would return again if we were visiting the area.
