If you visit restaurants that appear in that famous tyre guide it can be hit and miss especially on a mid week lunchtime. You know the sort of thing ,named chef away for the day leaving the stoves to the kitchen porter or a choice limited to a couple of easy to please dishes.
This was an outstanding demonstration of culinary talent. Top rate sourcing, diligent and creative prep and wonderful execution. Plenty of choice and attractively priced for the lunchtime customer. A rabbit starter was sublime and a Venison main course of similar quality.
Service was attentive and friendly(and not at all stuffy or pompous as can be the case in this style of restaurant).
Interesting wine list and a cracking house champagne.
