We arrived pre-check in time and were greeted by Simon the manager who checked and found that our room was available. Our room, although quite small was nicely decorated and the bathroom was spotless. After spending some time in the town we decided to have a drink in the bar.We asked if there was an outside area so that we could enjoy the sunshine and were told about a small area at the rear that was due to be refurbished, but we were more than welcome to take a look.As had been explained it was a bit run down but good enough for us to stay there for 30 mins. When refurbished it will be a lovely area to enjoy the evening sun.We had booked to eat at the Grange and were shown to our table by Vanessa who had served us in the bar previously. My wife had Scallops to start and I had pigeon breast, both of which were excellent. For our main course my wife had the duck and I had the sea bass which again were excellent. The deserts were also outstanding so we must mention Mark, the head chef and his team.I should also mention that Vanessa was very knowledgeable about all matters to do with the hotel, and if she didn't have the answer to one of our many questions immediately, she soon found out for us.A really great hotel.
