We decided to book for a family lunch. The party included 1 child ,a toddler and a baby as well as10 adults, We were not disappointed. We were made welcome right from the start, Although 2 of the party were held up due to a traffic holdup, this did not seem to be a problem, The food once ordered came out in a short time. It was hot, fresh and enjoyed by everyone. The staff were all brilliant, attentive to the right degree considering it was a Bank Holiday and it was very busy we did not feel rushed by them . The added pleasure of the pets and the play area made the whole experience complete. We will hopefully return in the future.

Not sure what the fuss is about this place.

The dining room hasn't changed in years and still features the same patterned carpet.

Prices have changed though. Overpriced for poor food.

Recently had a roast which was tasteless & meat poor.

Also had lunch on a Saturday. My husband ordered fish and chips which he had to dissect under the batter as they had left the skin on. Personally that would make me gag. The chips were awful too & tartare sauce not home made.

I had an average pasta dish which was the size of a starter yet £10. We both left feeling hungry. Will not be returning.

We took the decision to call in at lunch time on Tuesday, expecting the place to be quite, how wrong we were, very busy, luckily they were able to find us a table, we checked the menu, but wanted the pork burger from the specials board, only they had run out, that is how popular the place is. So we settled for a baguette, which are very nice and filling, having seen some of the lovely looking deserts coming out, we decided to get them a try, opted for the selection option, 4 different deserts together, more than enough for two people, each tasted great, must remember in future to book, will most certainly be going back.

mostly very good , some were a big disappointment .. Braised pidgeon was over cooked .. could have been shoe leather .. Crab and Scampi starter was very good , as was the goats cheese. One eater was gluten free , staff looked after him .

Last minute trip. Lovely characteristic pub, friendly staff and clean facilities. Added bonus of the farm animals and large field to run around in. Unfortunately my daughter was jumped on by an older lad and pushed around in the play area. Parents just seemed to leave their kids there and not watch them. So be careful with smaller children. The food was lovely and great sized portions
