We stayed at the Strozzi Hotel in the Sienna suite over the bank holiday weekend.
It is fantastically placed for exploring Cheltenham - you are literally seconds from the main streets for shopping or something to eat.
The hotel is very quiet, and I must admit to being a little disconcerted by no presence at reception, but the security codes on the main door and suite works well, and the room was amazing. Comfortable, huge bed, private small terrace, well stocked kitchen area and incredible extra touches for my partner's birthday, including champagne, chocolates and balloons.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area, and we'd love to come back.

Stayed Bank Holiday weekend in the Palermo Suite with my girlfriend. We couldn't fault it. A hidden gem of a place in the town centre and great value for money. Wish we could have stayed longer and would recommend it for people looking for something a little different.

Room tip: Palermo Suite has glass roof.

The first impressions as we came in from the street were outstanding. It got better from there. The suite is comfortable and has some very elegant touches. We ordered a bottle of champagne and there it was in the fridge. We went out on to our rather small, but pleasant balcony, and celebrated our arrival.
This style of hotel is unique and works well. Having no one around is fine and the entering by key pad is smooth and efficient. The rooms were beautifully cleaned and breakfast items replenished well for our second day. The location to the center of Cheltenham is second to none.

This is a great place

Initially I was doubtful to try a place with no one at the reception but I did not have the need. I was well informed and my concerns and questions were patiently addressed. A beautiful place to rest after long walks in Cotswolds.

Thanks

My lovely missus booked us in here for a couple of nights to celebrate my Big Birthday in Cheltenham.

I didn't know where we were going, where we were staying, what we were doing, or who we were meeting.

The Strozzi Palace was the perfect place and location for all the surprises.

We stayed in the Palermo Suite, on the top floor and with a skylight to the Cheltenham sky. The room was light, airy and very well equipped. Comfy beds, plenty of storage space, a large TV, and an excellent bathroom with shower.

The breakfast was very well thought out too: fresh quality OJ, bread, croissants, jams, fruit, cheeses...and even decent fresh coffee, all eaten at a small table and with posh cutlery and table mats.

The location really is perfect. We explored this lovely town completely from our Strozzi Palace base, on foot to the town centre, further afield to the park and to the genteel Montpellier area - past glorious Cheltenham Ladies' College - and to the charming racecourse via a short bus ride, a few steps from our Suite.

I suspect this is not the cheapest option in town, but it must surely be one of the best.

And if you're feeling a little jaded after a Big Night Out in Cheltemham, they have an arrangement for free use of the gym and pool at nearby DW's.

The surprises just kept on coming.
