So disappointed. Room we had so small you were able to reach anything you needed by sitting on chair in front of dressing table.
Were we maybe in staff wing? 5am and people coming and going doors slamming (although understand they were fire doors) and room very warm lovely in winter months.
Continues with follow up 10 days later waiting on refund from swiped card at check in for any purchases made. We did buy a drink at the bar but that had to be paid seperatly at check out. Have been advised monies will be refunded by friday 22nd. Only 2 weeks later!
On a positive note staff we encountered were polite and friendly. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice.

Location: Great. Far enough from the town centre that parking and traffic aren't an issue, but only about a quarter of an hour's brisk walk from all the attractions of Falmouth town centre. It's easy to drive to, but the odd split carriageway outside might confuse you at first!

Staff: Superb. I've been staying at Penmere on weekdays for a few months now, and I can honestly say I cannot fault any interaction I've ever had with the staff here, they've always been courteous, friendly and helpful.

Rooms: Bit of a mixed bag. In the flat-roofed section of the hotel, the soundproofing is insufficient so you can often hear (in detail) what's going on in the neighbouring bathroom. That said, my rooms have always been well-maintained and clean, so no major complaints. The superior rooms in the end block are large and very nice.

Facilities: WiFi is good. They use lots of extenders rather than making everybody crowd on to one access point. I rarely have any issues getting decent connection speeds. Plug sockets in rooms are hit and miss depending on the room, but they really could do with adding some near the beds for phones/laptops etc. Fridges are only available in the superior rooms. My ideal standard is a fridge and microwave in every room, so unfortunately they don't reach that, but nowhere is perfect.

Overall, they've earned a five-star from me. I've been happy to call Penmere Manor my home-from-home for the last six months, and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Falmouth.

Room tip: Stay in the main house, rather than the flat-roofed wing if possible

In the coldest and darkest days of Winter in the year 1987 a vampire came to stay at Penmere Manor Hotel.
He entrapped all mortal souls within its grounds and there they live: forever old and forever young. He informed them that should they leave the grounds they will turn to dust.
Over the years the estate has fallen into disrepair: the reception reeks, the rooms tatty and tarnished. Their former glory a distant memory to the walking corpses that walk within.
And there they exist. Talking to the occasional 'real' person who is foolish enough to enter as a guest. Their unfamiliarity with real people results in an abrupt and rude demeanor. The recollection of how to operate a hotel whilst in limbo is secondary to them. The service they used to provide is now a shell. Abandon hope all those who enter here.

The hotel is in a great location, just a ten minute drive from the events square in Falmouth. There’s free parking there after 5 so great for dinner and drinks. The walk would probably be around 25 mins, with a very steep hill in the middle so be warned!
The hotel was okay, the bed was comfortable, but we had a few minor issues.
The pool and jacuzzi are a nice addition, but need updating. The hand rails to get into the jacuzzi were flopping around and not bolted into the ground. The breakfast was shockingly bad, would recommend just getting food from the table such as cereals, yoghurt etc, as the cooked breakfast was grim. Tried just eggs the second morning and even those were horrendous! On our last morning, there was a bus waiting to collect travellers and the hotel arranged for a tractor lawn mower to be turned on and left running for 20 mins while they loaded up a trailer at the back with suitcases to take to the car park. Car park was 100ft walk at most and this was 8am on a Saturday morning - really crappy wake up call!!
Overall, it was good for what we needed as we spent most of our time in Falmouth and at the Lizard so very little time in the hotel. If the plan is to spend most of the time out and about then this is a good place to stay, but if you like to hang out in a hotel then don’t pick this one.

Set in a quiet location in Falmouth and only a very short drive from the town centre & the beach.
The hotel is set in lovely gardens and we had room 14 which had a patio opening out onto the gardens.
The room was very large, super king size bed with lovely cotton bed linen.
Plenty of storage & a large bathroom with separate shower & bath.
Spotlessly clean, plenty of towels & tea making facilities.
Breakfast very nice & the staff were all friendly & helpful.
