“Historic Chester Town Centre Rows”

The experience of visiting historic Chester cannot in my experience be bettered in many other places in this country. Access to a mixture of small and large famous brand-shops and restaurants can be gained by using the walkways along the shop rows amongst the Tudor style buildings.
The view down onto the street below is also a good reason to use them, and again when the weather is wet or too hot. It reminds me a little of a Victorian promenade walk. A pleasant experience which costs nothing.

These rows are fabulous. Watch out for the low headspace and changing floor surfaces but after all it is ancient architecture. It is much better than the modern shopping centre even it if seems to have more than its fair share of barber shops.

Fair play to Chester, it's a lovey city to walk around. The rows themselves are full of history, charm and character, plenty of different types of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There really is something for everyone and great to leisurely walk around.

A brilliant example of how to combine the old with the new. Keep your heritage and add the up to date facilities. Well done Chester.

Great unusual shops to visit - quirky original gifts to buy. Well worth a browse and great if it’s rainy as they are all undercover. I love the rows in Chester and a couple of good tea shops hidden away too!
