Visited with friends and generally the hotel was good particularly the rooms albeit bathroom a little tired but OK. Restaurant food was a little massed produced and food should have be served hotter. With a group so did not press and the overall deal was good.

Breakfast was a little chaotic to say the lease Because of numbers and lack of room and tables. Unfortunate to have breakfast early on Saturday morning with many people trying to get in the restaurant. Certainly not helped with "buffet" style, albeit staff actually served you for some of it and then halfway through walked off. Not helped by the slow conveyor-style toaster machines managed actually by member of staff as toast "monitor" !!!.

All in all not a bad stay but room for improvement.

First stay at this hotel. Plenty of parking. Friendly reception staff. All bar, restaurant staff, housekeeping all friendly and helpful. We stayed in a clubroom which was over the bridge from the reception overlooking the canal. Room was spacious and welcoming. Plenty of coffee etc along with a couple of packs of complimentary biscuits. Breakfast was good and enough choice to suit everyone. Bar prices were very good, cheaper than other hotels we have stayed in! Location is excellent as it is central.

This is our return, we stayed only one night last year, and decided that we should give more time to Chester Citry. Staying at this hotel was a very good solution, not only was the check in very professional, the room was perfect with a view over the channel a great dinner on the river, and a smooth check out. Parking free !

Room Tip: View over the river - best.

Stayed here with a couple of friends. Excellent hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Shame the restaurant staff let the side down. From the minute we walked in for breakfast we were received by unpleasant looks to then be approached and told that the clothing we were wearing was not appropriate. Bearing in mind one of my friends who is heavily pregnant was dressed for comfort. I'd understand if this was a 5 star hotel and they had a reputation to upkeep but that is not the case. Ironically, this was said by a woman who had long fake nails and fake eyelashes on. Somehow this doesn't come across very hygienic (!) If I paid for a service I expect the staff to be professional, if you want to be rude do it in your own time. Simple. Will not be recommending this hotel.

Stayed for three nights (Mon - Thurs) as part of a DIY city break. We had an excellent, reasonably large room with free car parking and free wi-fi. Ideal for a base which was only a ten minute easy walk into the city centre. The price we paid was very reasonable - I've paid more for a B&B which had nowhere near the facilities of this hotel. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate, even if it was not spectacular. Had everything we needed and non-buffet items could be ordered from the staff. The two course evening meal for £15 was excellent value, so much so we intended only to have one meal in the hotel and then eat out for two nights but we enjoyed an excellent steak on the first night (rib eye and starter for £15!) and decided to eat in again on the second night. It was another excellent meal. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. There is an excellent swimming pool - most hotel pools are often quite small - and we used this, with the adjoining sauna/steam rooms, at the end of each afternoon, before we had the evening meal. Certainly a place I would recommend for a city centre hotel.
