My husband and I love this pub. A walk away from the Holiday Inn Express on the race course. Lovely atmospheric modern pub. Great choice of ales and gin. Family friendly. Great staff. We didn't actually eat but the food coming out looked delicious so next time we are in Chester we will try their food.

I think I’ve found the best kept secret in the Horse Racing Industry!
The table was booked for the Gold Cup Festival.
The food was presented with great care, it was prepared with great care. There is somebody trying very hard in that kitchen! The entire dining event was outstanding but not only that, it was outstanding value.
The food, the staff, the atmosphere all married together to make a fantastic day out.
My only winner all day was The White Horse!! Thank you to the entire team.

Came for a nice lunch with family today and for most of us it was our first visit to the restaurant. After looking at the menu online and arriving to the restaurant that is beautifully presented we were looking forward to it. However, at the risk of sounding dramatic... the meal seemed to be nothing but a disaster from beginning to end!
We placed our orders with the waiter who, despite their numerous incompetencies, was very pleasant and obliging (unlike some of his colleagues!!! )
After a 40 minute wait for our food it arrived in a very haphazard manner. Two of our lunches arrived with significant items missing, we quickly informed the staff (we appeared to be served by numerous members of the team and wires kept getting crossed)...and unfortunately once the missing items were delivered we had already finished our meals.
My partner had ordered a second drink that for some reason the waitress (who we had not even seen before) thought it necessary to slam very rudely on the table without even a smile or apology!
We were interrupted various times being brought drinks or food orders that were meant for other tables, and for a restaurant that was clearly not busy (by the fact most of the tables were empty) I find this rather baffling?!?!

After making it clear that we were unhappy with the complications of the meal we were refunded a full meal and further 10% , however it does not compensate for the fact that we all left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed!!!

If you are going to charge the prices you do...ensure that you get your staff organised and trained at a higher level...I've had better service at Whetherspoons!!! We quickly realised why there were so many empty tables at lunchtime on a bank holiday!!

I loved this place in one way but was so very frustrated in another. It is aesthetically beautiful, a peaceful, stylish, chilled place with an excellent playground for the kids. you don't often get that. You get great place for the kids and god awful pub. This place is delightful. The menu is delightful. The fact that the kids can build their own pizza is brilliant. The food was fabulous. Our waitress was wonderful. It is so well thought through in every way with the main exception that it is painfully slow.
There do seem to be communication issues. Half our meals arrived at one time but not the other. There was confusion over what was gluten free and what not. But when the food arrived it was delicious
I would go again any time and hope this was just an off day. Every place has one. It's so lovely and so near to idyllic.

We went over lunch and it was quite busy but it was a struggle to get served. It was also a struggle to get a definitive a answer about what was gluten free for children and it took several trips and checking before they got it right. Food ok but nothing great.
