This venue worked for us - a party of eight (including a child) wanting Sunday lunch. The location is intriguing and fascinated our visitors. We had ample space in the bar area; the service was excellent and the food exceptional. We mainly had Sunday roasts, variously sampling the beef, lamb and pork - all served with lashings of potatoes, veg and Yorkshires with cauliflower cheese on the side. For the five year old, pasta with a tomato sauce was supplied with a separate bowl of grated cheese. We all opted for the sticky toffee pudding - light and delicious.
I’ve been to The Anchor before, though not recently, and will definitely come again soon.
