We spent a week in the Baker Street Suite/Verandah Suite. We loved the property with an interconnecting door between the two suites and the furniture which fits with the age of the house. The property is on the Whitewater side of Nelson so very easy to get to the hill and parking is available on site. Positioned just off Baker Street everything is within a very easy walk but is very quite at night tucked out of the way - perfect.

Room tip: Verandah and Baker Street suites are on the ground floor, can be interconnected and were very quite.

Spacious rooms with gorgeous views of the lake, mountains or garden. The neighborhood was both safe and quiet and just off of Baker street which is the main street downtown. We were able to walk everywhere easily and the house is historical and super quaint. I had concerns that we would be on top of everyone in the house but we literally did not see or hear anyone else during the three nights that we were there. The beds were super comfortable and we are already hoping to book again for next year! All in all, top notch!

We stayed in the Herridge Lane Suite with its own parking stall and BBQ just outside the front door. Everything for a great stay was provided, from a comfortable bed to a coffee grinder and coffee for that great wake up cup, and if needed free laundry facilities. Down the alley is a great French bakery and another block away a fantastic restaurant in the Hume hotel with vegetarian and gluten free options. We drove to the Ainsworth Hot Springs for a refreshing day. There are many activities in the area from hiking and biking to kayaking and fishing. This quaint town has everything you need to get away from city life. Lots of unique shops and people who love to strike up a conversation. Relax and make the trip. You will return with memories and smiles.

Room tip: Weloved the lane room but all are great.

Nelson may be a town of just over 10,000 but you'd never believe it with everything that's going on downtown. That's makes the Victoria Falls Guesthouse a great choice. Park your car (for free in their parking stalls) and walk mere blocks to everything!

Very affordable for everything we had: charming decor, clean smelling room, comfortable - clean bed, clean bathroom that was in great working order, large kitchenette.

We stayed after the Canada Day long weekend for 2 nights in the Falls Suite; my husband, 21-month-old son and I. The toddler is a handful so 'eating in' is a better option most times and the kitchen is well appointed to cook pretty much all you need if you're keeping busy on vacation.

sidenote: there are several grocery stores in town... not just the Co-op.... (locals like to promote the Co-op ;)

The deck didn't have a gate so we used a bungee cord-pack'n'play combo to keep the baby safe while we barbequed and sat outside. The Falls Suite may be on the 2nd floor, but it's kind of the 3rd floor because of the basement on the hillside. This means two flights of stairs on the outside of the building...

I heard about the nightclub across the street. It was noisy at 2 a.m. and that was on the Thursday night. We should have kept the window closed, but thought... 'that's a nightclub??' ... but, yes... those patrons linger way too long in the middle of the night. Maybe if we had a babysitter, we would have joined them!.... otherwise, close the window at night.

Floor is creaky, another reason when we heard this we chose the top floor....

Free wifi...

I rated service as Very Good, not Excellent... because there is no service. lol. Don't expect the maid to come by... but I read the laundry is open on the main floor. Not a problem for us!!

The owner came by on our last evening to say hi. Very thoughtful! Thanks!!

Room tip: Falls Suite has great view. Top floor less noisy for floor squeaks. Sunshine on south facing suites, like Falls Suite.

My wife , our 2month old and I recently visited Nelson and stayed here. The service and communication during our stay was tops! They even put a pack n play in our suite for the baby, I asked for some candles the second night I got candles! I asked for recommendations, I got them!!
However it's been a week and they still haven't charged our card for the visit. I called early in the week and got a very sincere apology, and called the second time with an equally sincere apology.

I can not say enough how much we enjoyed our stay, but the area of billing could be improved.

Thanks so much for your feedback! The summer months at our guesthouse are so busy and I see that we have been prioritizing the customer service with our guests and falling short on the paper work side of things! During the more mellow seasons this isn't a problem but we will definitely work to improve this important side of things during this busy season! Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a good summer!
