We stayed at The Walper for a wedding and we were not disappointed. The wedding itself was gorgeous. The attention to detail was insane. An example would be when we were served our dinner. The wait staff all waited at our table until all servers had plates for each guest. Then, they perfectly timed giving us our plates exactly at the same time.My server even replaced my wine glass because it didn't look "shiny enough". The room was nice and big. I loved the shower pressure and heat.Overall, we were really happy with our stay!

We had an amazing time at The Walper hotel as we were in town to celebrate my daughters birthday (she goes to Laurier). We had two rooms booked and they were so nicely designed, the staff was fabulous, pet friendly, environmentally conscious, lovely locally sourced soap products. The breakfast barista was a great place in the morning. We all loved and enjoyed our stay in this renovated downtown hotel.

There was an issue with one of the rooms we had booked, and the management transferred and handled everything beautifully. Can’t wait to go back.

Very nice bathroom with good quality bathroom products. Everything in room and bathroom is updated and very clean. Staff is very friendly; everyone we interacted with was pleasant and welcoming. Great location in the heart of Kitchener. Very cute basement bar with good refreshments and live music. The only downside (or upside, depending on perspective) is the supposedly haunted history. This building has a reputation as the most haunted building in the city. We decided to change rooms arriving on Friday the 13th to a particular room where an employee died in a gas explosion many decades ago. Staff was friendly and accommodated our room change request efficiently and without laughing at our concerns. We did not experience further paranormal activity, although the elevators are kind of creepy.Overall: exceptional service, great food (could use more gluten free options though), cute room, updated bathroom, great location, and everything was very clean!

Stayed 1 night. Nice rooms. Very clean. Parking is not very convenient especially in the winter. Room was cold and stayed that way even after we asked desk to warm it up. No in room controls. Coffee maker but no coffee. Ran out of hot water during shower. Walking distance to several nice restaurants.

This is a nice friendly hotel, but it is let down badly by the lack of leisure facilities : which is a must in this day and age. I won't choose it again until this is corrected.
Location is good if you want to be in Kitchener - but our view is that Waterloo is a better location

Dear LiLiCockerpoo,

Thank you so much for reviewing your recent stay at The Walper Hotel! We appreciate your comments very much, and they mean the world to us! We do offer complimentary yoga passes to Queen Street Yoga next door to the hotel, and we did offer complimentary GoodLife Fitness passes, but because of their recent closure we have been trying to find an alternative for our guests! We do also have a list of all the local attractions in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region listed on our website so, we do apologize if this wasn't properly explained to you.

We do hope to have the opportunity to host you again the next time you are in the Kitchener area!

Warmest regards,

Jess McLean
