Owner description: Hunot State Natural-historical reserve. One of the most attractive places for tourists in Nagorno-Karabakh. It's a great canyon with amazing nature, old ruins and wild caves.

It`s an amazing canyon with high mountains and a waterfall naturally like an umbrella. Excellent option for lovers of rock-climbing and paraplaning.

Beautiful place. Highly recommended if you are in Artsakh. Round-trip was around 2.5-3 miles. Easy hike with great views.

We visited the canyon as part of our trip through the region. Its my personal highlight of the trip.
So if you have a car goto the town below the valley on the south side called Shosh. Go through to the small area called Mkhitarishen Muxtar after the town - take the clockwise road and go as far as you can and as close as you can to the canyon. You will start to see the canyon. The trail is on the left side as you face the canyon. Walk towards it and you'll find the path - there's a ridge you need to get over and many goat tracks you can take to get to it. Now your on the trail and into the canyon. An amazing place You can spend hours in it culminating in the umbrella waterfall and a swim just below it in the small brook you will find.
Well worth the trip and one of my personal highlights of traveling.
