We were welcomed by the owners themselves!
Hot coffee, cheesecakes and frozen drinks were served right away! No waiting time! Well partly because of good conversation! But the ambiance was so welcoming! The staff are smiling! I'm sure if I asked for a star-dusted cheesecake, they will fly to the moon and get me just what I asked! And they do this so effortlessly! Thank you Zen Hotel! It was indeed a beautiful side trip! Everything was deliciously served with care, smile and love!

Staff were hospitable and accommodating. However, Zen Hotel should improve their room facilities and services.

They should check their rooms. The room I had, air condition unit had leak, shower has no hot water, ants in their side table and exhaust fan not working.

You should ask if the room which has wifi signal and cellular signal.

Their room prices were reasonable.

It’s good that there’s a hotel like this in Santiago now – it makes the trip to the province more enjoyable.

This hotel serves its purpose: good place to stay, buffet breakfast, coffee shop when you need one, swimming pool (small), clean rooms, nice beds, cable TV, wi-fi in room, hot & cold shower and great location in the center of the city. It’s near a mall and a bus terminal and some other business establishments.

The staff is well-trained, the food is okay (the coffee is not very hot, it takes a lot of stirring for the coffee creamer to dilute) and their rates are easy on the budget. There’s parking but the lot gets packed when there is an event.

Now, since most travelers to this place are here on business, this is a good option for a night or two.

I have been to this hotel over 5 times now, and each time that I've been there they have treated me as though I was part of their family. The rooms are excellent, bed is very comfy, the food is absolutely outstanding.
I enjoy the staff they are always very helpful and pleasant and enjoy helping you.
The staff is laughing and joking with you which makes me very comfortable.
I believe this is due to the Management and the training that is in place at the hotel.
When I arrive at the Zen hotel they give me the feeling of being my home away from home.
If you're looking for a place that treats you as you are part of there family this is where you want to stay while in Santiago City.

When I booked 4 rooms for 2 nights via Agoda I was given the impression (on pictures and confirmation email) that the rooms had 1 queen bed and 1 single for 3 people per room.

I changed the booking to 3 rooms and extended our stay for 3 nights. The price did not change and I was assured the rooms would be the same. However when we arrived we were given twins and double rooms with hardly any room for an extra bed! The reception insisted that the booking was for twin/double rooms. My mistake for not checking the rebooking confirmation from Agoda. The manager Erick was very helpful when I requested for another room to accommodate our party.

The hotel facilities are good and the staff are friendly and helpful. However there were little things that could be improved. First is for the front office staff to be more accommodating and more service oriented towards the needs of the guests and communicate better. They appear to adhere to management policies and are almost afraid to communicate these policies to the guests.

For example we wanted to make a local phone call by the reception and were willing to pay but what we were told was simply “no” that almost seemed so rude. I also booked a massage in my room for the next day and I was assured by the receptionist that someone will come. The next morning I tiried to confirm that someone was definitely coming at 2pm after my friends experienced long wait and cancellations the day before. I was told that it will be confirmed at 2pm when the massage parlour opens. I was expected to wait in my room at 2pm for them to confirm the therapist was coming!! So I insisted for the receptionist to call the therapist to confirm and when she eventually did she told me that the salon was closed and no therapist was working that day!!

Another little thing was the 89 Pesos they added to my bill for a cheap glass I broke in my room and the 50 Pesos for pool towels. They could have included them in the price of the room.

Despite these little things, overall the hotel is a nice place for a short stay. The staff and management are keen to learn and improve the overall experience. I will definitely stay there again.
