The cafe was spacious and could cater for large groups. It was lovely and cool. Service was prompt, food came reasonably quickly. We had pancit, beef in ginger, deep fried pork belly, and fish soup. Some of the dishes we had not tried before. It was good to sample some local specialties.

great location just in front of paoay church. we ordered to flavors of pizza in one pan, if not mistaken i think it's pinakbet and longganisa. if you're not a veggie lover you're not going to enjoy it. the longganisa pizza is just okay. nothing so special about this place.

Every Ilocos road trip blogs had Herencia Cafe as a restaurant to stop by for some authentically local eats, but this one is highly overrated. It could be the time of our visit but this restaurant has showcased a screaming manager, dirty tables, dis-organized reception area, mediocre food by far. The pinakbet pizza is the only unique eats they serve but honestly, it's nothing to write home about. Overall, been there, done that, but would not recommend to friends, or maybe just do a takeaway of the pizza.

Given that this restaurant is the only decent place to dine in Paoay, the place gets too crowded at the peak of lunch time, so we decided to have a very late lunch here (around 2:30pm). We were given seats with a very good view of the church. Our orders were quickly taken (we got the Pizza Sampler of pinakbet and longaniza, poqui-poqui, Bagnet with KBL, crispy dinuguan and garlic rice). The pizza was served in less than 15 minutes and we immediately digged in...the crust was thin and crisp but sturdy enough to hold the fusion of vegetables on top (and yes! it has ampalaya too!), the Crispy Dinuguan was just bagnet cut in small pieces topped with pig blood's stew (nothing unusual though), the poqui-poqui came in next and we find it a bit salty (it's just eggplant salad with eggs and tomatoes), their Bagnet with KBL was no stand out for us too. The cut of the pork has more fats in it than meat (we just ended up "butchering" it by just getting the crispy meat portions). I guess for us this is best as a 'cafe' perfect for an afternoon snack where one can have a very good seat overlooking the grandeur of Paoay Church while savoring the tasty pinakbet pizza.

We were at the height of the tourist season and the restaurant was full. But because it was highly recommended we decided to wait for an hour past lunch to line up. I looked forward to the pinakbet pizza which one of us tried before. What a disappointment! The pizza had missing ingredients (few vegetables and no bagoong). The other dishes were also average and quite pricey for the amount and taste. The staff tried their best to serve us but we were missing forks and spoons and had to ask for them. There were just too many customers and few waiters.
