An easy walk from the Noosa Ferry along the riverside, the RSL is an impressive building in Tewantin.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the young man at reception did not properly explain the conditions of membership. We are RSA members in NZ so he scanned our cards and driver's licence but did not explain that even though we were RSA members in NZ, we were not entitled to reciprocal RSL membership prices?! We found this quite odd and were shocked when we went to pay that this was not the case!
Despite this, the food was pretty good value. My husband chose the roast pork which was the roast of the day at a very attractive $12.95. As he is a coeliac, the girl at the counter explained what he could and could not have accompanying his roast.
The seafood salad was more expensive at $27.95 and although it was quite shy of barramundi, it contained good quantities of prawns and calamari and was of generous proportions.
Service was prompt and efficient and the place was very busy even though it was a Monday.
The drinks would've been even more tempting at member prices, but even so, were still good value at non-member prices compared to usual bar prices in the area.
The surroundings were pleasant and we chose a table overlooking the township of Tewantin.
We definitely enjoyed our dining experience at the RSL but would be happier if the reciprocal rights thing was sorted. (so it was a bit fairer!)
