I reviewed the Noosa/Tewantin RSL a while ago and I was fairly scathing about the restaurant. At the time of the review I thought the food was tasteless, uninspiring and very average at best. I said I wouldn't eat there again unless they changed the chef.
I'm not sure if they did change the chef, but the food has improved, in my mind, ten fold.
I've eaten here several times in this past month. Barramundi, creamy prawns, salad and chips is divine. One negative.... dont lay the fish and creamy prawns on top of the chips. I like the chips crisp.
The last meal, was the 3 course special. Soup, roast lamb or pork and dessert. All for $16.90. A great price and even better deal.
Thai pumpkin soup to start. Not spicy but very flavoursome.
Roast lamb and vegetables was done to a treat. The lamb was tender and not overdone.
To finish, a warm fruit tart with custard.
Although they forgot about me for the dessert, after me prompting it was served in a flash with a friendly apology.
The refit to the club's ammenties is outstanding and it seems the restaurant has followed suit.
Staff at the club is of the highest caliber. Special mention to the very cute and amiable "security" girl at the front on arrival... it's nice to be greeted with a warm smile and a happy banter. Makes a change from the broken nose type bouncer blokes that is the norm in many places.
Well done Noosa/Tewantin RSL... You do us proud.
Just one more thing...
The type face on the courtesy buses. "Serving the Community". It really looks like "Sewing the Community"....
