A group of us visited here on Easter Sunday for food. The place was packed which probably caused the very slow service. There were only two ladies behind the bar which meant we were waiting an age for a drink and to place food orders. The food when it came was good apart from the lamb roast which was tough and they also forgot one meal when we ordered. The lamb and mint pie, liver, burgers and chicken roasts were all good quality. If visiting when busy be prepared for a long wait though as our food took nearly an hour to arrive.

poped in to this pub on my travels and the lovely couple who run the pub was some of the politest and accommodating land lords i have met for a long time. the food was outstanding and reasonably priced. if your going to the area you have to go there.

My husband and I ate her on Good Friday for both lunch and dinner and both were equally good.
For lunch we had a Ploughmans each, very larger and very fresh and tasty. For dinner we had the Halloumi starter and the Smoke Salmon Starter, both good, then I had the curry of the night Beef Madras and my husband had the Chicken and blue Cheese and bacon meal with mash potato and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Staff are very nice and friendly in the pub, food is great the only thing missing was a little entertainment, but hey you can;t have it all.

So lucky to have come across this wonderful pub in the village we were staying in.
A traditional country pub with great food and a warm welcome.
Can highly recommend the Sunday Roast - also enjoyed three other meals here as it was that good !

We’ve popped in a couple of times recently for a quick evening meal and have yet to be disappointed. Good home cooked meals and very generous portions. We live at the other end of the village but definitely worth carrying on past our nearest pub to eat here.
