We did two tours with Rosedelco while on Isabela Island.
The couple that we travelled with researched tours in Isabella and decided Rosedelco looked the best. Also, Rosedelco was recommended by the owners of the place that we stayed while on the island. With those two references we went with Rosedelco.
The first tour that we did was hiking Sierra Negra and the Chico Volcano. We really enjoyed our day hiking. There was a total of 8 people plus our guide in our group. We saw other groups that had way more people. I counted one group of 18 from a different tour company. I preferred the smaller size of our group. The guide did an excellent job of pointing out interesting flora and fauna along the way and was very easy to understand his English. The Sierra Negra caldera was huge but the views from the Chico Volcano really stole the show. Make sure that you take weather appropriate clothing (windbreaker), plenty of water, sun screen, a great attitude, and mostly bring your camera! Rosedelco provided lunch which was a sandwich, crackers, piece of fruit, candy bar and a juice box. Rosedelco also provided transportation to and from where we stayed.
The trip takes about 6-7 hours depending upon your speed so the early start was appreciated
The second trip that we did with Rosedelco was the Los Tuneles Trip. Los Tuneles was a great day trip!
Once again Rosedelco provided transportation to and from where we stayed and lunch on the trip. Hot drinks were provided on this trip. The boat trip into the tunnels was fun and Captain Travolta was an expert at navigating the area. We had a great view from the forward part of the boat. We did a walking tour first and saw blue footed boobies, birds and several swimming turtles. Our guide provided excellent information on everything that we saw. After the walking tour we did two snorkeling swims. Both swims were enjoyable. A wetsuit was helpful. The first swim was in the tunnel area and the guide knew everywhere to go to see the sights. Seeing the underwater formations and sea life was interesting. The second snorkel was a short boat ride away. We saw turtles too many to count, Rays, Sharks, and Sea Horses. Once again the guide knew right where to go. I was surprised by how much interaction there was with the underwater formations. The snorkeling in places was very shallow and touching the bottom was unavoidable.
My only negative comment would be that we did spend about 30 extra minutes on the return boat trip while the crew went fishing. This would have been ok because we were also looking for rays and other sea life but we had one person on the trip that was getting sea sick and getting them back on land would have been better than looking for dinner.
Overall though Rosedelco did a nice job for the two days that we used them.
