One of the many interesting things you will see in Sintra is the Moorish Fountain (Fonte Mourisca) situated on Volta do Duche street in between the historic city centre area and the train station.
This fountain was designed by José da Fonseca in 1922 and is Islamic in style. The architecture features a three jagged arched entrance surrounded by a jagged horseshoe. The facade is teal coloured with geometric patterns. It is attractive although the appearance is tired and could probably use restoration. You can enter the half moon shaped interior where the fountain is located.
For best photos best to stay on the other side of the street. There is a bit of traffic here with regular cars passing by. However, if you are patient, it won't take long for you to capture unobstructed photos of the Moorish fountain.
