After a long time, The Bull Inn reopened in Olney and the transformation is stunning. It's difficult to see where the old bar and restaurant were as the refurb is so extensive, done to an extremely high standard with attention to detail. Have visited a few times for drinks and the selection is very good. Booked a table for BH Monday for dinner and overall, a very pleasant experience. Had the Sunday menu on and the roasts were good with nice accompaniments. Was a bit quiet when we finished our meal, would have been nice to stay for another drink, but atmosphere had dropped as it emptied out, only around 9.30.

We were a party of 4 going to give it a try for lunch.
First impressions were good , light and spacious with an open kitchen .
Friendly staff , fairly extensive menu ,
my son had Thai flavoured mussels which he enjoyed,
his partner had steak , he asked for medium it was well done, my husband had belly of pork which was tasty , the skin was soggy not crispy as expected and the whole thing was far too greasy .
I ordered the roast chicken with garlic and rosemary this was too over cooked as it was dry and I only ate the brown meat.
Desserts were nothing special , altogether a bit of a disappointment.
We may try it again but not sure.

The Bull has great potential - not long ago this was once a great venue with a fun and welcoming atmosphere, top quality food and a selection of well priced drinks of merit.

Since changing hands the food has been reduced to pre-packaged pies instead of freshly cooked local produce, the drinks have gone up in price and down in quality and instead of organizing regular community friendly events the pub now attracts an unsociable crowd who seem attracted to the newly installed pool table (replacing the dining area).

Then, to add insult to injury, a serious fire on May 1st 2016 has caused damage to the courtyard archway and the building above. If you have any desire to visit following my review please call ahead to see if they have been able to re-open the venue.
