We had not been to Benham Zoo for more than 20 years. It was just excellent. A lovely environment, really interesting animals and excellent staff. Enjoyed the feeding of the giraffes, cheetahs and sea lion. The flying birds are brilliant. Highly recommended.

went to the glade for lunch ordered 3 ploughmans price each £6.95 brought to table and we had 3 cheese and ham roll with some rocket on plate with skin of tomatoes ,the zoo is excellent but if there was a choice for food it would be 1 *

really lovely experience with our six year old granddaughter. Flying display was well organised, plenty of seating with people asked to leave space between groups. Did not hear any complaints & only one toddler crying during a three & half hour trip. The shop on exit was maybe a bit overcrowded & could of had a staff member controlling numbers but all trying very hard. Only wish for a few more benches around the grounds.

I’ve read a review recently that says “lack of interesting animals” and found it befuddling.
Walking under snoozing sloths, standing close enough to a pacing tiger that you could touch it had the plexiglass not been there (thank god it was,) seeing sea lions darting around the water, watching giraffes eat mere feet away from you, stroking playful goats and enjoying the snow leopard regally posing right in front of you…..how are these lacking in interest?
I’ve barely mentioned anywhere near the variety that Banham zoo allows you to see and suspect anyone that considers this uninteresting, lives in a world where elephants should be re-enacting Shakespeare and meerkats are fire breathing jugglers.
The enclosures are vast and there’s plenty of coffee shops and toilets to suffice. Great gift shop stuffed with everything our six year old could want!
Thank you

Great day out! All the animals were out to see, staff were helpful and friendly, twisted my ankle but the staff were great about it! Definitely going back!
