It's quite and the staff are friendly, the WiFi is terrible putting this down to so many people being on it so maybe an upgrade there would be useful and there isn't much to do if you're of a young age it's an ok getaway but there are better parks out there for the younger generation, the holiday homes are decent and tidy, you're just very limited, would recommend to the older generation :)

Having visited this site last year we very much looked forward to our return visit.

Arriving on Thursday, the very pleasant young lady in reception gave us a choice of pitch as our van is quite large, both pitches would have been fine but we settled on one.The site became busier on Friday and over the weekend as you would expect.

Within 15 minutes of parking up we had the satalite set up,van levelled ,water tanks filled and the wine open !

This is an extremely well run site,we have never had a bad site choosing from the best of british sites book, however this site won the loo of the year and I can see why it just has the edge over others visited, whilst it is a little bit of a" its a knock out "challenge to get showered before the timer goes off ( 5 minutes ) and then no water for another 5 minutes which for me was not an Issue but for my partner too much of a chance she wasn't prepared to take as she has long hair and to shower, wash and condition would be too much of a chance of being stranded with soapy hair situation for her, so she used our vans shower, however cleaner facilities you will find hard to beat.

The site has many static homes and they are all so well laid out and looked after as it is the sites policy not to allow sub letting which I believe is a great move so to keep in control of who is on the site, to maintain their standards. The site has a great dog exercise field and other dog walks on site.

Great walk into the little town which has just about all you need to get by, a good co op and spa along with independent butchers fantastic fish and chip shop that serve proper fresh fish, great chips and all with care,it also has a little cafe attached to it. a few nice pubs, hardware store etc all on one street and within a half mile walk of the site.

I also liked the fact that the site have a rule not to allow on line shopping supermarkets to deliver to site as a demonstration of the sites support for the local businesses.

We enjoyed this visit even more than our last visit as we stayed the extra night which allowed us to properly chill out and do some lovely walking with our dog .

At only 60 miles from home we will use this site more often in future and avoid the South bound M6 18 miles roadworks by simply going North.

Many thanks for providing such an excellent site for us all to enjoy.

We have owned a few caravans sited for the season and also had a static on this Site over the last few years & it has been lovely, we are now coming back as often as possible in a Motorhome as our daughter made some good friends on the Site & it's nice for them to keep in touch. Facilities, Site, warden, grounds, owners, all brilliant! Can't fault the site & that's why we choose it as no 1 place to visit For caravannning In the Yorkshire Dales area

We are new to the caravan world so was recommended to come here Friday to Sunday ..so glad we did..we managed the awning without filing for divorce.
Hubby went fishing for the day Saturday - left the caravan at 7.30am but gave up and returned at 12.30 as he had only caught a couple of tiddlers (there were big fish on the lake/pond but they didn't want to play). I took a walk into the village on Saturday morning..not much there but a nice walk.
We went to Bentham Chippy on Friday night and as there was a big queue thought it would be brilliant..it was ok - fish had far too much batter and the mushy peas were not cooked through.
Saturday we went to the Indian for a takeaway..when we drove up there we were told our order would be about 20 minutes so we waited on the carpark (its the indian takeaway on the carpark - up the pathway from the indian restaurant) - what a let down !!
back to the park - Riverside is a lovely peaceful place - some nice walks and plenty of wildlife. The river was lovely and the ducks / geese / rabbits and robins came to visit us.
The shower / toilet facilities are EXCELLENT - so clean / warm and welcoming. ok the shower cuts off automatically after 5 minutes (now i never stay in the shower that long at home but i could have stayed in this shower for half an hour so found myself disappointed when it went off - had to go back again in the evening - 2 showers a day is just luxury)
Our son and daughter in law came to visit with our 2 grandsons for an hour (turned out to be 3 hours) to see if they would like to borrow the caravan to visit (they loved it)
The boys loved the play area especially the mini zip wire and the sand pit..also loved the games room (at 3 years old and 4 years old they couldn't quite get the knack of table tennis though)
The lady on reception was so so so helpful. We were a pain as we had booked a hard standing pitch so us being novices didn't have the correct pegs for the awning which we wanted to try out she swapped us over to a grass pitch (which was lovely but discovered the reason why people prefer the hard standing - my hoover will love all this grass on the caravan carpet)
Cant wait to return and my son also looking forward to borrowing our caravan :)
Only down side was the wifi - if you are near to reception (outside reception) then it works but it was non existent where we were lane 'F' - only bothered us because wanted to facetime our grandchildren - hence the only 4 rating on this but 5 rating all the way for everything else

Room tip: just go and enjoy

Stay here for a couple of nights. Lovely site. Will be back to stay again soon as High Bentham is a lovely little village and this site is 1st class. The toilet block was spotlessly clean. Friendly staff .
