What a lovely afternoon spent in Minterne gardens, the walk features great views of the historic house, lakes and stream that eventually cascade into the lake. Well worth the admission price.

A fabulous place to visit especially in May as the rhododendrons and azaleas are stunning and in full bloom. A laid back visit....good value for money and cakes on the terrace are to die for.

The rhododendrons were just past their best when we visited but still a nice walk around and very good value. Early on Sunday morning we had the place to ourselves.

What a very pleasant surprise these gardens are, flowers, trees and lakes, the like of which I was seeing for the first time. All in the amazing Himalayan garden you will want to spend an hour or more here, exploring the grounds. Although the house is not open to the public as far as I could see, you will be able to rest your feet and enjoy a tea and cake at the small area to the side of the building. The house is just outside of Dorchester parking can be limited, and is opposite to the entrance. Currently there is an entrance fee of £6 unless you are a member of the RHS.

Lovely tranquil garden. Rhododendrons and azaleas were spectacular. Bit of a dull day so cafe closed early so could not eat lunch. If you like gardens good little gem to visit. Takes about an hour to wak round.
