We stumbled on `Country Bake' by chance. Normally, whenever we stop at Ruakaka, we go to the main part of the shopping centre, thinking the eateries there are the only ones to choose from.
However, on this particular day, we chose to park in the shade, which took us around the side of the shopping centre. We parked directly outside of Country Bake. People were coming and going, so we knew the food must be good.
Inside was some of the most delicious looking baking. None of the usual cakes and slices that many cafes and bakeries choose to serve up. Lots of variety!
There were plenty of savoury items to choose from too, and homemade pies, which, on this occasion was what I chose to buy. (In fact, the steak and cheese pie was so delicious I bought a second one!)
On the way out, we noticed that there is an ice-cream and juice parlour attached to the business. This is part of Country Bake too.
It is a large venue, with plenty of tables to sit at - inside and out. My friends all said they enjoyed their food and next time we visit Ruakaka, Country Bake is where we'll buy our lunch. Highly recommended.
