Great presentation and wonderful sashimi, nigiri, chirashi, unagi, etc. Attentive service. Not noisy for a Saturday. Will definitely return to try the omakase menu!

For change, we decided on another Japanese restaurant instead of our usual (Sho-dan) and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was half-empty when we arrived but quickly filled up. We had tempura and the shirashi soup (very good) and
sashimi and a sample of their sashimi with avocado, both were very fresh. Dessert was on the house (good too) because we had two glasses of wine. We enjoyed our meal very much, but what was outstanding was the service, which was attentive and personable. We will return very soon.

Got inside the restaurant not knowing what to expect. Name seems not to match what the menu is. Vargas is more Spanish or Latin American name but offers Japanese food. Great taste, great area & a bit pricey. But it’s worth it. It has a bar ,seems patron were more into the drinks than the food when we’re there. Great atmosphere. Good to recommend & we’ll be back if ever we go back to downtown Montreal

After having eaten at the "best" sushi restaurants in Montreal, I hadn't expected much from this sushi and Japanese restaurant, but the food was excellent and made to order and very fresh. The combinations were fantastic and flavors divine. All for a relatively inexpensive price. Non sushi items were varied and excellent as well. Bravo Saiko!
