A bistro by definition should be simple, and that is exactly what this is

Family owned and operated, the wife served tables while the husband tended cash and the bar

What could be nicer than sitting outside on a late summer day with a good friend in an authentic neighbourhood, having a glass of rose, while
eating fish and chips!

Visited the bistro on a Thursday for dinner before a show at the Outremont Theatre. Very relaxed, casual decor. Chairs could be a bit hard to sit on as they are in wood. The service was friendly and efficient; the owner: attentive to his customers. The chicken sandwich was well garnished served with matchstick fries. On the table d'hote, the braised lamb:a flavorful, melt in your mouth portion was served with al dente vegetables and roasted potatoes. The vegetable soup highlighted the taste and color of beets. This is a place to unwind and enjoy delicious, simply prepared, good home cooking.

Enjoying breakfast , might be a problem for some whose appetite is still rather sleepy in the morning. But, even they will probably enjoy visiting this lovely cosy bistrot so well situated downtown Montreal because of its excellent coffee and atmosphere. This small welcoming place and staff, serves very good breakfasts -classical and more...Generous choice from the bilingue menu- We chose the "classic" - eggs, (scrambelled to perfection), potatoes, buttered toasted whole-grain bread, and lots of fresh fruit. Supplements of coffee, cream, bread and butter, jams and honey, were all free of charge set on the table. We also shared some superb crepes (pancakes), flavored with delicious authentic Canadian maple syrup.- I shall be glad to return to this fine bistrot when visiting Montreal.
