Had the pleasure of dining at Luci last week. In an area of Etobicoke with several great dining options, Luci stands out for its friendly staff, inviting interior, and fantastic food.

Everything we ordered was delicious at Luci, but, in my opinion, there were two real stand-outs: the burrata salad and the gnocchi in wild boar ragu.

First, the burrata salad: a warm, soft, rich piece of burrata, which, when cut into, yielded a divine underbelly of stracciatella and cream. The cheese pillow was served over nicely ripened tomato, drizzled with fresh olive oil, and lightly salted and peppered--and rested atop a grape leaf. Definitely one of the finest pieces of burrata I've ever stumbled upon in Toronto (burrata in Italy is, of course, superior).

Second, the gnocchi. Just like the burrata, Luci's gnocchi is, again, one of the best versions (probably, the best) I've ever had in TO. Fluffy, soft, cloud-like puffs of dough covered in a fresh, robust, tomatoey sauce with lumps of boar. With some freshly-grated Parmesan on top and a couple cranks of the pepper grinder, this was a perfect serving of gnocchi. Will return for this dish soon!

All told, a lovely dining experience in Etobicoke, courtesy of a skilled waiter (Giovanni) and a skilled kitchen. Magnifico!

Went out for a nice dinner with friends to this quaint Italian Restaurant. Seating was good, not overly crowded. Friends booked through Groupon as place was highly recommended. The service and attentiveness was great from the start. All of the antipasti and mains were fabulous. I had Calamari to start and the Sea Bass for my main course and they were fantastic. The desserts were incredible and the wine is reasonable. The overall cost was definitely worth it. I will return and highly recommend giving it a try.

Ours was a group visit of a seniors’ fine dining club. We were accommodated in a separate private room but otherwise menu was the same and serving staff were regular employees. Despite our numbers, service was helpful and exemplary. Notwithstanding individual meal choices, everyone was unanimous in respect to the quality and presentation of their respective selected dishes. Pricing was a surprise as we expected premium rather than fair prices. Be sure to check out the Prix Fixe for value. Payment which with a group can pose challenges was smooth and the service charge was a reasonable 17%. The chef came out to meet some of the guests who were surprised that he did not speak Italian. However, the proof was in the pudding as they say. A repeat visit as a couple is already in our diary. Recommended.
