Owner description: Kensington Market is just to the west of Chinatown and is the bohemian heart of Canada, based in a multicultural history it is now a flurry of independent stores, restaurants, bars and shops that bring the world's foods to one tightly knit community. You can find any food on the planet in Kensington Market. It is not an uncommon thing to find a festival in Kensington Market making the bohemian party atmosphere complete. Tip for Kensington, take the transit. Streets are packed and traffic is insane, parking is non-existent.

Been coming to Kensington for 15 years and it's never disappointing. Vintage clothing, hipster foods, cheese shops, butchers and fish markets. Jerk chicken, burritos, local coffee roasters, army surplus, bars and restaurants. All great!

Kensington Market is a one of kind unique neighbouhood to the west of the downtown area of Toronto. 10 mintutes by streetcar, West from Yonge St & College.
Kensington has a large quantity of different ethnic foods to choose from and all will send your tastebuds dancing !
There are unique vintage clothing stores .
Fresh fish & meat markets, tons of restaurants and lots of local artists selling work of many kinds.
There is a bohemian feel to the neighborhood and people are friendly and laid back and it’s very safe.
There are Latin grocery stores
and assorted spice stores
as well as fruit markets and delis.
It’s one of the oldest neighborhoods in Toronto just tucked behind
China Town which is on Spadina Ave.
Kensington also has Pedestrian Sundays and streets are blocked off from vehicles.
Last Sunday of every month.
Kensington truly is a little gem
in our big city.

Well worth a visit

Some great little finds for coffee, drinks and street food snacks from Patties to Portuguese custard tarts

Some great pop up style shops mixed in with an eclectic mix of small second hand curiosity stalls / shops

Theres a great shop selling a wide range of US sports jerseys

Kensington Market is a very short walk from a very busy China Town area which is also well worth a visit. You could also walk down Spadina Avenue and walk back to downtown via Queen Street West. This is another very hip and cool street full of shops, coffee shops and bars.

Great vibes here all the time and even better food. Stop and have a look at some vintage items, get your palms read, have some pasta at Rasta Pasta.

We had a great afternoon. So much to see. T-shirts, records, food, sweets, beer, coffee, art, these are some of things you will find there. And more. Do not try to see it in one visit. Savour every shop and people you meet. Enjoy!
