“Unique Experience”

Journey Behind the Falls
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We went to see the Falls when several of the other attractions were still closed for the winter such as Maid of the Mist and the cable car that hangs over the gorge. I am so glad we ended up doing this. Because there was still some snow we got some amazing photos and a very unique view of the falls. When you get down the elevator you go into tunnels and at the end of them you are either seeing the bottom of the Falls from the side of behind the incredible wall of water. very cool thing to do and not too expensive.

A must do! Great experience! You take an elevator down under the falls. It’s a view of the falls from the side and behind.

Make sure you get right up front on the observation deck for the full view. Some might skip it because it's crowded up there, but you can't appreciate it unless you see the whole thing, and you have to be at the ledge to do it. Second row won't even do it. Worth waiting for.

Especially in the spring- summer months when you can venture out onto the open observation deck, the sights and sounds are breathtaking. It's great to go behind the falls as well and read the history and hear the thunder of the water. In the winter months you can still get close from a covered deck.

We decided to do this tour as it was the only one open during the winter months. None of the boats that go directly next to the falls are in service during this time. It was discounted because the lower deck was closed due to the snow and icy conditions. It worked out to $13-14 a person. Overall not THAT much to see. Two observation “holes” and one observation deck. Got some decent videos and pictures.
