A fun place, good price, excellent food. In he heart of Vancouver British Columbia, a good area. A little bit hard to find. You need to take the elevator on Burrard just off Alberni, to the second floor where the big restaurant is. Better to make reservations for a large group. Have fun

If you aren't yellow, don't go. Servers are rude. As hilarious as it is to be white and experience racism, I can still choose to go elsewhere. Which I will. Worst. Sushi. Ever.

Beware opening times! says online that lunch runs until 14:30 so we just walked about 45 minutes to get there and the server on the front and the manager behind the bar (kinda rude and abruptly) told us we were too late as the cut off point was 14:00 when we it was literally 14:03...

We have been here many times In the past but this was the "last Straw". The food has alway been okay, this time it all came at once, the people in the "Boats" behind us were obnoxious and screening profanities at each other. The problem was the old Manager, who has probably been there for 100 years did nothing about it, he did however come to our table and threaten to charge us 50 cents for each piece of sushi rice we had not eaten if we ordered anything more from the menu.
We were still eating when this happened and it was rather unpleasant as we had guests from South Africa with us. On top of this it was Almost impossible to track someone down to order drinks, we felt like they really wanted us out of there as fast as possible. Too bad we only spent $270, maybe a $10 special at one of many other places would have been money better spent.

As someone who works downtown and loves Sushi, you can't go wrong with Shabusen, This place is great and you can't beat the value. The quality of the food is good and we always order the All You Can Eat. It does get busy at lunch so make a reservation before going.
