Yes, you read it right... There is a Beaver Habitat at the Olympic Village in Vancouver. The dam is in the middle of the pond, North end of the Village between West 1st Avenue (at Columbia) and the Sea Wall. The animals are nocturnal and thus they come out after the sun comes down. There are 12 of them now, with 4 new babies just arrived recently.
From the Science museum, cross into this newly developed neighborhood, great city views of the river, and some restaurants.
Wow this place was awesome ! Great lunch and so much to see ! I am terrified of heights but went up the mountain , the views were so amazing !
We walked all over Olympic Village, taking in the sites, people watching, and soaking in the history of the village. Vancouver appears to have done this well - a nice open space with upscale housing, restaurants, and shops.
Good for kids toddler to 10
Pre teens can sometimes be seen on the swings or climbing up a structure in a creative way, but truely made for kids
Most of ground made with recycled cushie tires
Prevents scrapes and hard falls
Plenty of shade to sit in and rest if needed
Public washrooms and drinking fountain
Slides although metal, face west so don't get super hot.
Design structures are creative and fun
Google for pictures
Decent food places nearby
Often large events happening in the square
If kids get bored, it's park time
Always a good place to visit
