They promised to get us through lunch on a workday in under an hour and they delivered.

Service was friendly and efficient. The food was terrific. The historical building it was in was very nice

They had a good selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic which our group appreciated.

I'm looking forward to returning at some point for an evening meal when we have a bit more time to enjoy ourselves.

Thank ltcguenther

We were in Calgary looking for dinner upon our arrival in town. We walked past a historical building known as the Grand Movie Theatre and there was the Lougheed Building where the Workshop Kitchen + Culture situated.

We were attracted by the decor and went in for dinner. We were surprised by the interesting menu and the high standard of food served. The ambiance was lovely and the dinner was extraordinarily enjoyable. This is one restaurant that shouldn't be missed if you are in Calgary.

The Workshop restaurant and entertainment space occupies both levels of the old Grand Movie theatre in downtown Calgary (the ‘A’ in Grand was missing from the neon sign). Workshop still hosts special movies for special occasions.
Decor is elegant and funky - old wheels and ropes hanging from the wall with an open kitchen.

My wife and I opted for the 3 course collaborative chef dinner. consisting of a unique and very fresh tuna salad, sirloin main course with super creamy potatoes, seared brussel sprouts, big chunks of bacon all drizzled with garlic sauce.
The dessert was a flaky pastry layered with chocolate sauce and custard along with a tart homemade marmalade, toasted pistachios and a dry olive oil tapioca.

There was also a delicious appetizer of a generous dollop of a savory super creamy pate on top of a homemade potato chip and crested with salty capers - a perfect note for the prelude to one of our most memorable dining experiences!

We visited because of the good reviews while in Calgary. We had arrived from Europe that day and were there for a very early dinner around 6pm. Only few tables were occupied at this time, but by 7pm it was mostly full.

The food is creative, based on very good ingredients. The dishes all sounded tempting and we decided to have four starters between two in order to try more and the topped it off with a dessert. The dessert menu was in my opinion a little weak compared to the rest.

Overall a very good experience. The food is not dissimilar to Ten Foot Henry and given the choice I would probably take the latter. However, workshop Kitchen & Culture is also top notch and a very good choice.

I hosted a small corporate lunch there for 5 of us. It was recommended by one of my guests from a nearby oil company. I'm glad she did.

We didn't at first care for the high table and uncomfortable stools/chairs but they switched the chairs for us and we quickly settled in for a nice meal and nice overall experience.

The menu is a bit unique, but all the food was very good. Service was good too.
