We came here for a late lunch and this place was amazing! Delicious great presentation and an amazing view to boot. This place is set on top of Lake Louise so you have to take the gondola to get to this great bistro set on top of the world overlooking Lake Louise and surrounded by mountains and evergreens. The patio is huge and very inviting, inside is cozy and a nice casual feel to it.
We started off with their Heirloom Tomato & Basil Salad with Buffalo Mozzarella, Quinoa, Sundried Tomato Pesto, Balsamic Reduction.
Lettuce Wrap with Chicken in Coconut Peanut Sauce & Asian Slaw.
Pork Belly & Scallops 48 hour cured, with Celery Root Puree, Confit Tomatoes, Fennel Corn Bilini & White Asparagus Espuma.
All three of these dishes were excellent! Flavorful and colorful, the Quinoa had an amzing earthy flavor and the heirloom tomatoes were firm with a slight tartness that the mozzarella complimented it. I loved all the dishes served here, the only thing negative was that the portion was not filling. I was still hungry when i took the gondola down. This is a great place to eat if you ever have a chance and soak up the view.

The "Signature Cheese Fondue for Two" was a highlight of my Banff dining this year. So hot and tasty and was served with crusty bread, roasted potato chunks, sliced green apples, and veggies. Very fun to have fondue with great mountain views. There were 3 of us so we ordered the lettuce wraps to make sure we had enough but honestly the fondue is fine for three. The waiter had offered to bring more bread if needed.

One TIP is that Whitehorn Bistro is a bit of a walk from the Gondola. I was ravenous after hiking Johnston Canyon and miscalculated the time it would take to walk from the Gondola, and also wait for a table.

It was quite cloudy and eventually turned cool and rainy on the day we took the Gondola up and explored the trails and Wildlife centre (which is a must visit) so we decided to stop in and have a quick lunch. We were so glad we did! The Seafood Chowder is amazing! I also got the lettuce wrap, which is a small side dish of chicken in a rich peanut sauce and coleslaw (with non-spicy 'spicy mayo') and about 6 pieces of lettuce on a skewer that you must assemble yourself to make it a wrap, not quite what I was expecting it to look like but it was so flavourful! It's a bit on the pricey side but it is in Lake Louise and also offers incredible views as well.

We were taking a long delayed vacation to the Canadian Rockies before summer drew to a close. Decided to take the gondola in Lake Louise to enjoy the views from the top and stumbled upon a gem on the mountain. After you exit the lift, you take a pleasant stroll to the nearby restaurant. Dine outside on the deck with clear wind-blocking panels, in awe of the surrounding peaks. We had lunch, drinks, and a wonderful time. We're from New England and we know our chowder and Whitehorn Bistro has the very best. Worth the trip from anywhere. Helpful, attentive waiter. Great food. Truly the best, magical, serendipitous interlude of our entire trip. We will remember it always. Go. Expect to be thrilled. We sure were.
