Four of us attended one of the periodic special evenings, this one obviously all about fish and a tasting menu at that! Some people would say it was pricey just because it’s a pub but that’s just unfair as it should be compared with fine dining. The creative menu, service etc was perfect and we have eaten at some brill places inc Raymond Blanc, Ramsey, Hestons et al. We have dined at the Boot many times and for pretty much everything from a decent sandwich to a Mother’s Day special it stands very well as a excellent dining venue. The wines are well selected and reasonable and the beers aren’t bad either.
For what you get and what you pay it’s simply the best place in the area and I take my hat off to them.

We stayed at The Boot Inn this past weekend for an impromptu trip up to Alton Towers via Oxford (the former is a 40 minute drive from the Boot). The meal we had in the restaurant was lovely, if a little pricey. The malbec wine we chose was great and they had an excellent special of sirloin steak. The amuse bouche was a lovely little touch. We'd love to revisit and dine here again.
