We went as two families in two separate cars from Hyderabad. Road is very good. In between there was some road work going on in two places for about 1km. Rest all very good.
Boating at Rs.120 per head from Telangana Govt Launch was nice. We left at 6AM, arrived there by 09:30AM. Spent one hour roaming. Later sat on 10:30AM ferry for boating.
Museum may not be entertaining for everyone.
But One Hour ride on the water is fantastic. Don't take top floor. Just stand on the sides of the ferry to get water splash on you.
Wonderful experience.

Hi All

We have started to Nagarjuna Sagar from ECIL through ORR. Started at Morning 7am , Reached by 9pm.360 kms up and down from ECIL.

The road towards Nagarjuna Sagar is Two-lane and One-lane . No heavy traffic . Roads are well maintained .

There is a Sai baba Temple & adjacent to the temple is a Gowh Seva where you can feel the divinity at Chintalpally 92kms from Hyderabad.

There is a Hotel/ Eatery adjacent to the Temple which is well maintained and food is good.

Nothing much to look at the Dam as the Telangana police didn't even allowed us through the gates due to security issues I guess .

There is a boat ride available to Nagarjuna Konda from left & right canals.

Ethipothala water falls is 18 kms from the Dam .

Anupu is an important place to visit which is 8 kms from Right canal which is in Guntur district , Andhra Pradesh.

All the gates were closed and try fresh sweet lime at the bridge .

You can buy fresh organic mangoes through the journey Roadside.

One day trip with no hungama and pleasant weather with lot of good memories.

In single word i can say it is only a "ferry trip".

Means only you will enjoy bit more in travelling in to the water a ferry which take to an island.

And most important- Pl dont expect in anything in island...it is nothing but just a garden. Museum is just collection of stones- boring:(.

Positive: one time visit is ok with family and friends only for ferry travel in water. and there is a water fall in ethipotala, near to sagar aound 7/8km which is Ok but you wont find much enjoyment, beware of monkey near to it.

- it is bit hot over there, So Pl dont forget to take hat/caps with you.
you will not find good food and any restaurants, may be you can try in any resorts but not in city- sagar.
- However if you want to eat Andrameals which is ok when you are in sagar at right bank area near masjid. And dont expect luxury siting :).

- for foody people there not much will be available.
- Dont expect to stay in sagar as nothing to see more as it can be only a day tour
But may be you can stay in any resort if you want to spend time in resort only:).

Coming charges and timings:

!! Friday is holiday for Island !!
Ferry timing is : 09:30AM and1:30PM only... most of the time it will start delay.
for on demand if more people then 11:30AM and 2:30PM also will be arranged.

i went to this trip 7may-2017/ charges were :
Museum entry = 20/Person
Ethiportal water fall = 20/person= i felt waste of money
Ehipotal parking fee= 20 per car= they are cheating coz parking fee in jungle :(

Hyderabad to N.Sagar = 160-170Km
N.sagar to island = in water around 10km= 45min journey
N.sagar to Ehipotala= 6-8 KM.
