We really enjoyed yurtcamp . The yurt and on-site facilities were to a high standard in our opinion and it’s a great option to enjoy a bit of outdoor life without traditional camping . We’d definitely come again.

How else would we be able to have a friends camping trip in February? Yurts are spacious, well equipped and come with everything you need, including a log burner for cosiness! Wheel barrows are provides for transferring luggage, which means a car free zone. Great facilities - assault course, zip wire and outdoor (but undercover) games including table tennis, tablet football, giant connect 4 and jenga. Camping, but with Home comforts - highly recommended 5*

Myself and 7 of my friends stayed at Yurtcamp Devon for a weekend a couple of weeks ago and not only received the most fantastic service but also enjoyed every minute of our stay.

The facilities are clean and tidy, with every bit of attention to detail.

David our host chopped logs for us, and delivered a second basket of chopped logs on our second day as it was particularly cold during our stay. Don't let the winter put you off staying, the yurts are toastie with the log burner lit and it all makes for the adventure.

Thank you David, for being a fantastic host and for accommodating our last minute change of plans.

We will be returning shortly.

After arranging a couple days getaway as a surprise for my partner we arrived to find we were not expected, the bed was not made, no logs for the fire. 1st thing we had to do is make our own bed and wait for logs to be chopped. The only light in the yurt didn't work (luckily we brought our own lights) an apology was given and an offer at a 3rd nights stay slightly cheaper, but as I explained to the owner it would not be possible to stay another night there was no offer of any other compensation. After contacting the site a few days later I was told the offer made was more than generous and nothing else was to be offered. not what I would've expected for £220

For the benefit of people looking at this review, here is a copy of the email that I sent to the reviewer in response to his complaint email -

Hi .....

Thank you for your email.

I apologise again for the slight mix up on your arrival, but other than the bed not being made, and your log basket not being full, the yurt was clean and ready. I quickly brought fresh linen to your yurt, followed by chopped logs.

I thought I had explained to you that the solar light was not working due to seasonal inadequate sunshine, and that was why there was an unleaded petrol lantern in your yurt for lighting.

I offered you a leave at your leisure on your departure day, and a reduced price third night, not as "compensation" but as nice gestures.

I am also happy to offer you a stay for any dates in the next twelve months (subject to availability) with a 25% discount.

Kind regards

David

His original email made a big point of stating that he expected a refund before he "wrote his review" and my reaction to that was - guests making a fuss about very little will not demand money from my business with threats of poor reviews! Thankfully, the vast majority of our guests would not dream of behaving in this manner.

We had never been camping and so decided to compromise. We had a fun time there cooking over the fire pit! Our children were a bit scared of the dark in the woods (secluded yurt!), but on the plus side it meant they went to sleep early. Would book again, but in the summer.
