Can’t beat the location in centro, a half-block from El Jardin. It’s a perfect walking distance to almost everything you wanna eat, see and do. The front desk and security folks are super helpful (and far better at English than I am in Spanish) and the terrific bar and restaurant serves up delicious, contemporary and traditional Mexican classics at breakfast. That in and of itself is no surprise, but we discovered (or were reminded) that whatever we wanted off the menu was included with our room. That’s bittersweet, because we gorged ourselves there every morning and failed to enjoy the many desayuno joints in the neighborhood. Made the price of this beautiful boutique even more of a value.
It was our anniversary, which the hotel discovered, and we came back one afternoon to hundreds of rose petals arranged across our king-size bed, and surrounding a bottle wine. We were swept away by the gesture.
I have a feeling there is nothing these folks wouldn’t do to ensure your happiness at being in this marvelous, romantic throwback of a city. Our week at Casa 1810 was sublime.More
