We were having a short but very concentrated visit to San Miguel de Allende and were staying a this property.
A slight inconvenience, the are no elevators, so you walk up, only two - three flights mind you, but still, a walk-up. The rooms were truly spacious and extremely well appointed. Not very English channels on the TV.
The hotel is centrally located near the main squares and the Cathedral. Good restaurants are in abundance all around. Parking is a problem, but the staff will make it quite easy since they park your vehicle and bring your luggage to the property.
I want to stress the honesty of this hotel's management..
My wife forgot to remove her jewelry from the room safe when we left. There were several irreplaceable pieces that came from around the world, from Vietnam to Italy, Mexico to the Netherlands. We were heading for Guanajuato when we received a call asking us if we had forgotten some jewelry in our room. At that point, my wife realized her error. To make a long story short, with the honesty of the hotel staff, the resourcefulness of our traveling companion and good timing, we received every piece of jewelry, the next day in Dolores Hidalgo, at a truck stop, on the way to San Luis Potosi.
We will NEVER forget these people, their honesty, their resourcefulness and their beautiful hotel.
Thank you

La Morada hotel is a lovely old Spanish mansion (complete with a courtyard) that has been converted into a modern small hotel. The rooms which were remodeled recently are large, bright, and airy with high ceilings. Our room had a sky light. We had a small social area with a small refrigerator (stocked with complementary soft drinks, water, chips, and chocolate) right next to our bedroom. The bathroom was large, modern in decor, with a window overlooking the open air hallway.
The hotel does not provide breakfast, but there is a coffee machine in every room. There is a lovely bakery(Panio) located on the same street as La Morada - 1/2 a block away - that has delicious breads and pastries.
The hotel is just a 100 feet from the main square and the iconic La Parrochia church. The are numerous art galleries, restaurants, old churches, and markets all around. The streets are very colorful and fun to wander around. Highly recommend visiting the Botanical Garden just at the outskirts of town (taxi or Uber).
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great hotel!

We just returned from this hotel, and we were very happy with it. The room was beautiful and clean with great amenities. There were even fresh roses in the room. Our King bed was awesome. The jacuzzi tub in the big bathroom had plenty of hot water. They kept us supplied with bottled water and snacks. We had robes and house shoes. The hotel is just a few steps from the jardin where the cathedral bells ring. It was a delightful sound. There was a great sitting area right outside our room with umbrellas. We felt very safe there, and the people at the front desk were very helpful in every way. We will return to this hotel again. You cannot go wrong with this one.

You can hear the church bells most places in San Miguel so I wouldn't say that they should be a deal breaker here. The hotel and staff are very nice and very accommodating. Our room was minimalist, artsy and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is contemporary designed clean and spacious. In the daytime natural light pours in from windows and skylight. We were there for Dia de los Muetros and there were a lot of people on the streets. There is always someone at reception. Never felt unsafe and no noise. We loved the adorable Halloween cookies left on our pillow ! :) Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room tip: We stayed Upstairs.

The hotel is very central to everything in San Miguelle, the staff are friendly and the rooms are spacious and light. Our room had no windows but skylights, it was great until they started leaking during the storm. Our air con made a horrible noise every 40 secs so was difficult to keep on and ignore the sound during night. Also be mindful the bells are constant all night, ear plugs provided but not ideal for light sleepers.
