This was a wonderful tour. We arranged a private tour easily and our guide Jack was great. He knew local history very well and linked it to current events and the locations he took us to. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The pace was perfect and engaging. Good information about local places to eat and visit later. Thanks Jack.

On our first full day, we wanted to see the important sites of SME and learn its history. We could not have made a better choice than Patrick and this tour. He is an engaging storyteller who has made history his life's work. When Patrick led us to important sites I could see the actors in his stories mining silver, planning revolutions or building the future of San Miguel. He led us to inspiring artwork and beautiful hidden courtyards, each with an important story. For the rest of our visit in San Miguel, Patrick's history stories formed a matrix to help us hold and understand the scenes in this magical city.
Thanks to the volunteers who donate their time and skills, for the children of San Miguel!

The tour was a good introduction to the main points of interest and the history of SMA. I'd highly recommend it for the beginning of your visit.

Definitely one of the best walking tours we"be taken...and we have done a lot, all over the world. The volunteer docents are Canadians and Americans who are long-time residents in SMA. Their focus (for the Wednesday morning walk) is the city's history from earliest Colonial days (1550s) to the War Of Independence (1910-1920). You go into several churches, and art-related venues, and they encourage it to become a moving seminar-conversation.Takes a little over 2 hours.
