We love Premier Inns and stay in them wherever possible, but this hotel has a couple of significant issues that loose it at least one spot.
The room was internally of good quality, very clean, and with a shower-only bathroom that had a good hot and strong shower.
On the downside, the room was very small - so small that you couldn't ever get between the bed and someone sitting at the desk. The bathroom - though perfectly functional - was tiny and left no room to leave out toiletries etc. The bathroom door opened into the room.
You'd have thought that the double glazing, plus very good further secondary glazing, would have kept the room quiet from the nearby road noise. It did, but there was a big cheap-plastic air vent in the same wall that had a direct connection to the outside. Open or closed, all the noise of the road came through this! A very noisy thermostat and electric wall heater didn't help, but that could be silenced by switching off at the wall.
Premier Inn pillows generally are not as good as they used to be - to the extent that we ended up bringing a couple form home.More
