“Now named 'La Torre' Blyth. Busy. Can’t fault it! (From me, that’s an amazing comment)”

At La Torre Italian, Blyth. Suitably wined & dined. Lovely meal. (The drinks came to slightly more than the food....) It’s when the waiter says ‘you are hard to please, aren’t you!’ you know your reputation preceeds you! This from him working in, and us visiting, several local restaurants in the past. All in good humour. He got a good tip. Shared between all staff, apparently. A very nice evening. Till printed receipt, so easy to read/check.

Plus points – Good food, lovely atmosphere, (see below, though) quick efficient service even though busy, pleasant happy staff, ‘Happy Hour’ £6.99 menu of 9 starters 19 main courses, good choice and value, complimentary ‘shots’ at the end of the meal, town centre location, on a busy bus route with easy access to all nearby area’s.

Minus points – upstairs, so not good for those with limited mobility, a bit noisy due to some large groups, uninspiring, shabby exterior and entrance from a scruffy main street. (first impressions and all that!)

We had heard such good things about this place and wanted to try it since the new owners took over.

We arrived to find the closed sign on the door, but it was actually open. I let the waitress now the closed sign was on the door and she said aw yeah i know.....! OK!?

We ordered our meals & drinks and asked for some tap water for the table. This became the running joke of the night. The tap water arrived just after we finished our meals and after asking 4 times for it. I can understand once if someone forgets but 4 times is just silly We asked our waitress twice and then a waiter twice.

Service was slow and we sat with empty starter plates for quite some time.

The food was ok, average at best really. Partners steak was tough but fair play they did agree this and took this off the menu so that we appreciated.

I didnt find the food any better than any other italian in town in fact mine was a little bland so im not sure we would be back.

A little disappointing as we had really looked forward to visiting this place.

Maybe with an extra member of staff working the service would improve.

This is the third time I have been here following the change to la Torre. Each time has been fab. Great night with the girls- even got free, freshly baked bread to take away! Food is delicious and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

This is now called La Torre and we were invited to a friend's surprise 50th here and what a night it was . It was very well organised we pre ordered our food of a set menu with plenty of choice which i'm my option worked brilliantly, the food was brought out promptly by very polite staff and compliments go to the chef as the food was delicious, there was 7 of us on our table and not one of us had a complaint. Each course was covered without any fuss and the room was full to capacity. The guy behind the bar was very helpful and quick without rushing you the young waiter, Dylon, was so polite and helpful as was the manager. It was a pleasure to be served by happy young staff who actually looked they wanted to be there, which is rare these days. Thank you for the service and making it a brilliant night for our friend. Would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Me and my hubby went here a couple of weeks ago for the first time.
It has recently changed hands and is now called La Torre.
We both had a lovely meal, the calzone is the best I have had for a long time!
We both had desserts which were also very nice. Followed by two coffees and the bill was £42 which included two drinks each.
Great food at a great price!
