We had the cacao cerimony with Henrique and it was an amazing experience. He’s super well knowledgeable and sensitive curandero. Luna hosted us lovely. Super recommend, such a beautiful space with great facilitators. Azulik its mind blowing.
We stayed in the Aqua Villa, one of the resort's two large rooms. This place is pure magic. Our host and private butler Luis Sosa left nothing to be desired.

My stay at Azulik has been a mixed experience. Before arriving, I noticed several negative reviews on Booking.com, especially concerning cleanliness. However, when I checked into my room, it was clean—though being in a jungle setting, some dry leaves and bugs are naturally present. This is part of the environment here, so if you’re expecting a pristine, modern setup, it may not be for you.
Comfort-wise, I found the stay lacking. While Azulik is designed for adults, it wasn’t as comfortable as expected. Navigating to the room was quite confusing, and while they promote it as part of the concept, it felt more inconvenient than immersive. Additionally, the beach is not private or even semi-private, as outside visitors, including children, can access it.
Regarding service, the receptionist did not provide a welcoming first impression, lacking the warmth and approachability you’d hope for upon arrival. However, the hostesses who escorted us to the room and stayed in touch via WhatsApp were pleasant and helpful. The WhatsApp communication with the staff is convenient, though it wasn’t consistently responsive or reassuring, especially when we faced a power outage that lasted 3-4 hours. The intense heat and humidity made this incident quite uncomfortable, and the hotel’s response was limited, leaving us unsure of what steps to take.
Overall, Azulik offers a unique, jungle-centric experience that might appeal to those specifically looking for that ambiance. However, I believe there are other hotels in the area that could offer a more comfortable and well-rounded experience if you’re looking for a mix of comfort, reliable amenities, and consistent service.
