I stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in late March / early April 2017 with my wife and daughter.
The hotel offers all it says it does. Great location right next to the 5th Avenue, 5m walk to the nearest beach (very nice one at Martina's Beach by the way!), spacious bedrooms, very convenient small pools in the 5th floor and a good enough breakfast (three types of fresh tropical fruits, cakes, toasts, cereals, yoghurt, jams, Nutella, juice, coffee and milk). The hotel provides fresh mineral water in various common areas. That was great to refill our bottles before going to the beach.
The restaurant in the ground floor is not part of the hotel but it feels like it is (breakfast is also served there). It was very convenient and the food was also good (mainly Italian).
The rooms were cleaned everyday to a very high standard and the hotel was in general very neat and proper.
Only point for improvement would be the shower - very low pressure and the water would come either cold or hot.
Finally, the staff was very helpful (particularly Jessica and Laura at the reception).
Would strongly recommend this hotel for young people / couples as a great quality / price choice!

this hotel is in a great location , steps from the 5 and steps from the beach. i was initially very excited to try this new hotel in playa (have been to playa several times before all with good experiences)

however

electricity and internet work only half the time.
very cheap plastic furniture even in "upgraded" rooms
little or NO hot water
beds are extremely hard
"not my problem" attitude of night staff.
very few electrical outlets
elevators either too slow to use, or offline entirely.
room air conditioners are very noisy
glass doors and side bars mean you hear everything that goes on in the courtyard.

**NOTE** if you are having a late arrival (anything after 6pm) make SURE to call the hotel and make sure they know you are coming. it is the practice of this hotel to sell any and all vacant rooms at night even if they are reserved with advance payment. they will literally sell your room right from underneath you and then tell you "not my problem"

Room Tip: verify late arrivals or you will be sorry!

Stayed here for one night before moving on to other parts of the peninsula. Received a warm reception from Laura even though it was pretty late at night, who showed us where everything was and took us up to our room. The rooftop pools are small but on a warm day I'm sure they're lovely for a little dip (we didn't have time to sample them). The views are nothing to get excited about - the hotel is overlooked by a number of building sites at the moment - but we didn't mind. The room was comfortable, the shower hot, complimentary water and a little fridge. Breakfast was nice enough, fresh coffee, bread, cold cuts, lots of fruit. Fifth Avenue is 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel, which is ideal because it's actually quite quiet and non-touristy right by the hotel but you can be in the thick of it, and on the beach, really quickly and easily. Would definitely stay again.

Negatives:

1. Don't get too excited by the pools. They are very small. Not even twice my height. The views are of the city --- nothing exciting.

2. The area (streets) outside the building is quite dirty.

3. The price is not that cheap. So, we got poor value for money.

4. The rooms were fine for me, but, my wife saw cleaning problems in the bathroom.

Positives:

1. The receptionists were exceptional. They helped us park, take our car out from a tough spot at night 2am, gave us information about restaurants, helped clean up the room when my son vomited.

2. The location is close to 5th Avenida, which is where all the shops are. You can walk to a bunch of restaurants and stores. Nothing spectacular, but, quite interesting.

3. The rooms were big with some space.

All in all, I would not go back again to stay there if I visited PDC again.
