Rooms are large with a jacuzzi tub and large walk in rain shower. Mini bar is stocked daily. Service poolside was excellent and you could have lunch delivered to your beach chair. Room service was also excellent- our breakfast was hot and delicious and delivered right on time. We will be back.

If you want to dine the finest, swim in the pool or snorkel in the ocean and treat yourself to the best spa experience in the world-all while being treated like royalty... this is the place! And if you have kids, their kids club is so great, my daughter (who swims like a fish) preferred going there instead of swimming!

Room Tip: They are all amazing! We have stayed just about every side and floor! Love this place

This was our first stay the Grand Velas and I don't think it'll be our last! The resort is gorgeous. We had suites in the Zen area which truly was 'zen'. Driving through the gates into the luscious jungle really immerses you into your holiday from the moment you arrive. Everything about the hotel was superb. Location, range of restaurants and activities. Without a question, however, the factor that sets this experience apart, was the staff who was charming, attentive without being intrusive and genuinely interested in making this a wonderful holiday for the whole family. We were lucky enough to have Monica as our personal concierge and she was just delightful: responsive to questions, suggested ideas for us and our teen-age daughters and just a lovely warm welcoming face who greeted us whenever we saw her throughout the week.

WOW! We arrived at Grand Velas last week. We were warmly greeted and attended to first by Alvaro who escorted us in, got our check in initiated and brought us drinks while we waited for Beatrice to check us in. This process was seamless and Beatrice rocked it. Our room was outstanding. It was very big, had a huge bathroom, seating area, an outside patio with a soaking tub right on the beachfront! There were 3 of us and the room accomodated us perfectly. Carlos attended to us at the beachfront and pool and his team did not skip a beat. They were attentive, friendly and actively making sure our needs were met. I dont think I was ever short of drinks/cold water. Carlos went out of his way to make sure our day was delightful. At one point when I went out looking for my 14 year old, he accompanied me until I located her. (right where she was supposed to be, just later than I anticipated) That type of attention was not expected but greatly appreciated. Raul was our concierge and he set up our meals, spa and excursions. He had a handle on what we were doing and the best excursions to accomplish our choices of activities. Raul aided us in getting to points of interest as in his work ethic, his job didnt end when he booked the trip! Raul and Carlos were available at all times if we needed them and ended up feeling like old friends. As for the SPA....the best I have ever had!(no kidding) whether in the spa or in the chair massages at pool/beach. The massage therapists were outstanding and proficient at their jobs.The setting was very peaceful particularly as the spa is in the Zen section of the complex. That itself is a very calming experience.There are acres of preserved land around the complex which add beauty and peace. The water ceremony at the spa was delightful and set the mood for an amazing experience. Now....the housekeeping staff......extraordinary!! The place was spotless and they took the time and care to make sure our room was completely restocked, clean and welcoming. BIG NOTE.....apparently and unknowingly I lost a $50 bill under the bed. Housekeeping found it and returned it! This entire experience was delightful, rejuvinating and relaxing. The choices in food are far above any all inclusive I have been to. I can say many more positive things but you should check out the options for yourself. I hope to see you again soon, Carlos, Beatrice and Raul. Your team is amazing.

You have to learn how the resort works, the earlier the better. There are shows almost every night and daily by the pool. You can go early and eat at a buffet before the shows. My 10 year old daughter loves the swim up bar and the lady day found that Terry woukd give her a cub of whipped cream if she asked. This visit the wind picked up for several days and it was too cold out at the pool with the wind. The lower poll with the swim up bar was too cold tge first couple days but when the weather got better it warmed up. Last time we came it was July and everything was really warm. Coming in March it was right on the edge. Wee rented a jet ski down on the beach and took a sail boat out snorkeling off the beach at the resort. With the wind blowing it got really choppy snorkeling. The water was really clear, and my daughter's first snorkeling attempt was great, even though I got motion sick. The mini bar is included, and they will stock it with whatever you ask. Be sure to order room service. It is also included and exciting for kids. They will bring you food and drinks poolside and the resort is amazing.
