We chose the Westin because of the onsite COVID testing each day at 10:00. Makes it super easy. The rooms are spacious, very clean and the balcony - what a 10 million dollar view. In the morning, have a cup of coffee and watch the cruise ships come in and at night, watch them leave with the sunset. Wow.
We ate breakfast at the hotel, but opted for the continental breakfast, which is not the buffet - $12.00. It comes with fruit, sweet rolls, juice and coffee. We ate lunch next door at Playa Azul most days (they have a kitchen that closes at 4:30). Very reasonable prices. Went to the bar at that same resort for $8.00 mojitos every afternoon. For dinner, went across the street to the fish place, and it was very good.
The Westin has two entry points for swimming, one that is a little sandier than the other. Great snorkeling. There are plenty of chairs and plenty of shade, as the building itself provides total shade until the afternoon.
Agree with the other review about the club music in the afternoon - wow. Not sure everybody minded it, though, as the place does have a bit of a party vibe.More
