Although a little expensive, I loved this hotel with a resort feel. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was pricey but delicious. The people who work there work hard to keep the property absolutely gorgeous. I felt like I was in a jungle and the bonus was that we took a back entrance into the Chichen Itza temple and was recommended an excellent guide. I cannot say enough good things about the hospitality and beautiful, natural scenery of this place. I would love to return. We rented a car and drove here from the airport with a satellite gps, but if you are driving here, use a map. We got lost but the toll booth and some friendly strangers pointed us in the right direction.

I cannot say enough good things about Hacienda Chichen Resort and Yaxkin spa. From start to finish, it was simply wonderful. We received outstanding customer service during the booking process: they were incredibly helpful with the details of our stay. And the resort is just beautiful. We loved our Tatiana bungalow. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is lovely, the restaurant and staff are great. It's location right by Chichen Itza is fabulous. We didn't use the "spa" but we did do a morning bird walk (which is described on their website) and learned a lot about the flora and fauna of the resort. We loved every minute of our stay and would return in a heartbeat. 100%+++++ recommended!

We unfortunately only had one night to enjoy this wonderful establishment on our adventure through southern Mexico. We were greeted on arrival by general manager Louise Phillipe who was determined that we have the best possible time, and we certainly did! He very kindly upgraded us to a suite, which was beautifully appointed and in first class condition. The rooms are in several small buildings dotted around the estate which itself is in a wooded setting. Be sure to spend some time exploring this and spotting the varied wildlife. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and both meals were excellent. The highlight of the stay however was the sunrise visit to the archaeological site which he organised for us. We were met at 5.00 a.m. by Jaime the guide, armed with coffee and buns, and taken through the hotel's private entrance to see the sun come up over the pyramid and then a personal tour of the site. Not to be missed...
Couldn't recommend more highly.

We loved this place--beautiful flora and fauna and incredible proximity to the ruins and sense of history as the original archeologists stayed here. We arrived and enjoyed some time by the pool, a tasty meal on the terrace (make a reservation), and then the light show at the ruins, which was fun albeit brief and a little hokey. But most incredible was doing the sunrise tour of the ruins--peaceful and beautiful with direct access to the site through the back entrance. Our guide Jaime was amazing! We loved our Thompson suite which was roomy for two adults and a teen with a nice sitting area and private balcony. Again, this is a historic old hotel not a modern chain but that's our style and we loved its classic beauty.

Room Tip: Master suite great for a family of three

We stayed here so we could go to the Sound & Light show at nearby Chichen Itza. We thought it a delightful place: a quiet room amidst lush gardens, cool pool, good restaurant food and informative staff (nice to know the scorpion in the room wouldn't kill you!). A veritable oasis of calm and luxury on what was a very hectic schedule.

We greatly esteem your preference and hope you can come back again to our Green boutique hotel. Remember that we protect all flora and fauna. We advice guests to be vigilant and contact our staff if an scorpion is found inside the room or terrace; we will promptly remove them with care.

Most sincerely,
Hacienda Chichen Resort and Yaxkin Spa
