We gave a visit to this place, and were a bit disappointed by the vendors, they were sometimes so agressive, you changed your mind, and did not buy their stuff.
Ofterwise was a nice, colorful place.

This is very much a market and not a 'store' where prices are set and you simply purchase what you like. You are expected to haggle for prices, so it is helpful for you to already have an idea of what you are willing to pay for an item. Vendors will always be inviting you into their shop to look at items and can be a bit pushy, but that is fairly common in markets like this. I never had anyone follow us around, and when my friend and I got separated everyone was nice enough to show me where she had wandered off to. The souvenirs are the same as are generally found throughout the Yucatan region, but with some haggling you can get some good prices. There is also a nice food court in the middle with cheap eats and live music.

it is a good excuse to get out from the hotel area and walk the real city

but Mercado 28 is nothing else that a show of standard souvenirs IDENTICAL to what you can find everywhere else (including the airport !)

the restaurant inside the market can make the overall trip worth

We went to the Mercado around 4-5pm when it was getting later in the day. The people grab you as soon as you’re out of the taxi and are forcing you into jewelry stores where they close the door behind you. As you walk through the different booths they constantly pull at you and tell you to go into their store. They want to serve you free tequila so you’ll get drunk and buy more. We were harassed so much that we ended up leaving.

I felt annoyed by the sellers asking us too many questions and lied to us about the prieces when i ask how much is it? the seller said 2000 when i turn over the souvenir i saw the price was written on it 200 peso. Sellers approached us and followed us made us feeling uncomfortable and annoyed. Didn't end up buying much things just left the market.
